Our little bean jar is getting full - only sixteen weeks left of our mission.  We found out last week that our replacements will be here in June, so we'll have plenty of time to train them before we leave.  We fasted and prayed for this couple long before they put in their mission papers!

Oakland Temple
The weather has been lovely the past two days and we've taken advantage of it by walking around the temple after work.  We will miss the beauty and serenity of Temple Hill with its fountains, flowers, and walkways.  I took this picture with my cell phone. Today we walked around the terrace of the temple, where the view of Oakland, the Bay, and San Francisco is breathtaking.

Julie the Bridesmaid
We've enjoyed seeing wedding pictures of Brittni Robinson and Michael Burt at the Birmingham temple last week. Julie was one of the bridesmaids, and Susan said she behaved well.  She sure looked so pretty and we can't wait to see her!  We're thankful to Susan and Brian for caring for Julie so we can be on our mission.

We attended the Cambodian New Year festival at the interstake center on Temple Hill Saturday night and had a good time.  We especially enjoyed the young children and teenagers performing native dances.  The food was great, too.  Nary Rith is a member of the Cambodian branch and cuts my hair.  She's a wonderful person.

  1. Julie is beautiful! Wasn't that exciting that she was a bridesmaid? I know it will be good to get home and see them all again even tho you have had a magnificent mission. No place like home.
    Love you guys. The McKinley's
